Worth the wait!
Our family came here yesterday for a little Mom's Day dinner and Chinese was on the menu. We decided to eat in and when we arrived thought we might be making a mistake...the service was a little slow as the hostess seemed to be the only person working the front. Luckily the wait was worth it. This is definitely a place with a take out clientele.
I got cashew chicken which is the best I have had in a long time. My daughter's orange chicken was awesome. Just enough heat to know it is there but sweet to counterbalance. My son's fried chicken rice was good. Mom got the dumplings and really enjoyed them. We all shares each others meals and liked them all. -

Ive been here a couple times and each time the food has been bad. Service is meh at best.
They have decent soup but alll other dishes have been dry or just awful. I stopped coming here.
Also my review has been through like 3 different owners so the continuations of bad food has continue
Sketchy area as well.
Open decently late -

I should start by saying we have never actually dined in. We are delivery only customers. The over the phone customer service is always great. They always let you know it is going to take 45 minutes to an hour to deliver although it is sometimes sooner. The food is pretty good. Being the creatures of habit that we are .....crispy shredded fire beef with tons of meat, egg drop soup has plenty of egg (too little egg is a major no no), combo lo mein with shrimp that actually tastes good, crab rangoon STUFFED with crab). Not a superstar by any means but rather a solid, dependable performer.

My boyfriend and I have pretty much tried every Chinese place close to Fairfax. Today, we were craving Chinese so we checked this place out on Grubhub. We see New China Garden all the time but never tried it so we decided to give it a shot. While the reviews on grubhub were good, the reviews on yelp were another story. I gave three stars because my meal was decent. The food was edible. We ordered two lunch specials:
- general tso chicken with fried rice (+.50) and hot & sour soup as the side option
-Hunan shrimp with brown rice (+1.00) & egg drop soup
The hot & sour was okay, not the best we've had. The general tso chicken was below average. It was drenched in sauce and didn't have much chicken in it, it was mostly the batter stuff they coat the chicken with. The egg drop soup was average, tasted kind of plain to me. Luckily the Hunan shrimp was good but they only gave me 4 pieces of shrimp!!! They were large shrimp, but really? Portion sizes were okay, not very large but it was also the lunch special so a veggie spring roll or choice of soup was the side that came with it. Can't really complain for $8. Meant to take pictures, but we were starving and got ahead of ourselves. Not sure if we'll order again, but the employees are very nice! -

I will update, maybe after I actually get my order.
Placed an order online, the system was straight forward and easy. Got the confirmation email at 7:30 saying my order HAS been received and thanks for the business. After an hour, and awaiting my delivery from a place only a mile or two down the road, got a call saying that they JUST recieved the order, they are out of one of the dumpling varieties I ordered, do I still want the order? After she assured me that I would be next up, and would get my delivery quick, I subbed their 86'd item for another, said bring it on, I has a HANGRY!
15min later, a call from them, "Oh, we're sorry but the entree you ordered(double cooked pork, chinese style) we are out of, do you still want the order?
Truth be told, I only tried them because they offered traditional Chinese/off americanized chinese food, and I LOVE pork belly. Being that they were out of the only reason I really placed an order, an hour and a half AFTER I placed the original order, I said screw it and cancelled the order altogether. I said I would try back in a week or so.
I will update once I actually get some food. As of now, not thrilled.
